Staff Selection Commission (SSC) | Recruitment 2010 for Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical)

SSC (Staff Selection Commission), invites applications for the recruitment of Junior Engineers (Civil & Electrical).

Last Date: January 27, 2010 (Feb 03 for remote areas)

Date of Exam: March 21, 2010

Age Limit (as on January 27, 2010): 18-27 years

Qualification: Diploma in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an institution recognized by Govt. of India or equivalent qualification.

Application Fee:

  • Women / SC / ST/ PH / ExSM: NIL
  • Others: Rs. 100

To be paid by “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps” only, available at post offices and to be pasted in the application form in the space provided and got cancelled, clearly indicating the date and stamp of the issuing Post Office.

Pay Band: Rs.9300-34800 (plus Grade Pay Rs.4200)

Vacancies: The number of vacancies will be determined in due course

Selection Procedure for SSC Junior Engineer Recruitment Test:

The examination will be conducted in two stages:

  • A. Written Test (500 marks)
  • B. Interview (100 marks)

A. Written Test (500 Marks):

  • Paper-I (Objective Type, 200 Marks, 2 Hours)
    (i) General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 Marks)
    (ii) General Awareness (50 Marks)
    (iii) General Engineering (100 Marks) [ANY ONE OF THE TWO PARTS]

    Part A - Civil & Structural Engineering
    OR
    Part B - Electrical & Mechanical Engineering
  • Paper - II (Conventional Type, 300 Marks, 3 Hours)
    Part A - General Engineering (Civil & Structural)
    OR
    Part B - General Engineering (Electrical & Mechanical)

Notes:
Questions in both the papers will be bilingual (English/Hindi). Candidates will have the choice to answer the questions for Paper II (Conventional Type/ Descriptive) either in English or in Hindi. However, if candidate writes the answers partly in one language and partly in another language, such answer scripts will not be evaluated and they will be awarded ZERO marks.
B. Personality Test or Interview (100 Marks)

candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination will be eligible to appear at the Interview.

How to Apply:

(i) Application in the format prescribed in Notice, neatly typed on A-4 size paper duly filled in candidate’s own hand writing must be sent by post/submitted to the concerned Regional/Sub-Regional Office only against the centre selected by the candidate. The envelope containing theapplication must be superscribed in bold letters as “ Application for Junior Engineers (Civil & Electrical) Exam, 2010” and the name of the Centre from where the candidate intends to appear should be written in capital letters at left side corner of the Envelope.
